Happy Doctor Who Day!
What are you doing reading this blog? As part of its 12 Days of Spacemas, Space is holding its Doctor Who Marathon right now! You can watch all the Christmas specials in order, leading up to the Canadian debut of A Christmas Carol at 9 PM tonight (ET).
And to make the day more fun, we have TARDIS files for you! We have entries for every story seen today including:
-
The Christmas Invasion
-
The Runaway Bride
-
Voyage of the Damned
-
The Next Doctor
-
Planet of the Dead
-
The Waters of Mars
-
The End of Time, Part One
-
The End of Time, Part Two
We probably won’t have a TARDIS file for A Christmas Carol til tomorrow or the day after but feel free to discuss it here (NO SPOILERS til it airs in Canada however!)
And for those who are asking…with the DWIN site hacked earlier this month, we lost a year’s worth of data and a year’s worth of TARDIS files. We’re working on putting back up Series 5 (several of the entries were completely lost) and then Series 1 (and finishing it) and Series 2.

The Christmas Carol was fantastic and is now my personal favorite of the specials, surpassing Voyage of the Damned. From the dialogue to some classic “timey-wimey” action, to what I thought was a great debut acting performance by Katherine Jenkins, I thought it was great. I’m surprised it got a lower-than-usual Appreciation Index rating (83) in the UK, but maybe viewers were expecting something a little less Christmasy since we’re used to the RTD specials using the holiday as just a peg to hang the story off of. This one was actually about Christmas. And now, of course, we have a brand new debate over whether or not to include Karzan (sp?) and Abigail on the list of official companions.

I’d freeze Katherine Jenkins in a heartbeat if it meant I didn’t have to listen to any more of that god awful singing.
