Yay! Glad to know it’ll be in Region 1. Any news yet if it’s going to be the same as the R2 November release?

According to what I’ve read from Shaun Lyon (Outpost Gallifrey) and Steve Manfred (Doctor Who and the Video Website of Evil) it’s going to be the exact same set as the U.K. release. Apparently they were prepping to release it in both the U.S. and Canada but then decided not to do so because of no U.S. TV deal but since they had done the work they decided on a go ahead for Canada. The first time Canada has ever been seperated from the U.S. on a North American DVD release. The best thing is the U.S. has their regular DVD release (likely The Beginning boxset) so we get the original series start and the new series start at about the same time.

According to the latest news on the official Doctor Who website, the only thing missing from the Canadian release will be the audio description of episodes and the subtitles for the commentary. Not a big deal, IMO (although it would have been cool to read the commentary while watching the episodes). That also means that we’ll get the same edited episodes of Doctor Who Confidential…
At least it’s not the vanilla edition.
Hopefully, the packaging will be nice and, mostly, it won’t be *too* expensive. Regardless, I’m getting it. I know my mom may or may not get it, depending on the price.
